About the position The Member Education Specialist III plays a crucial role in presenting, evaluating, and educating on health education programs and services. This position involves coordinating and delivering training sessions or educational encounters, maintaining educational resources, updating educational materials and courses, and collecting and analyzing data from classes and programs. The specialist is responsible for assessing the individual needs of trainees, both from a classroom perspective and a broader population perspective, ensuring that the educational offerings are tailored to meet diverse needs. In this role, the specialist will pursue effective relationships with coworkers and members by proactively providing resources, information, advice, and expertise. They will listen to and address performance feedback while providing mentoring to team members. The specialist is expected to pursue self-development, create plans to capitalize on strengths, and develop weaknesses, influencing others through technical explanations and examples. Adaptability is key, as the specialist must learn from change, challenges, and feedback, demonstrating flexibility in their approach to work and helping others adapt to new tasks and processes. The specialist will complete work assignments autonomously, applying up-to-date expertise in their subject area to generate creative solutions while ensuring compliance with all procedures and policies. They will collaborate cross-functionally to solve business problems, escalate issues or risks as appropriate, and communicate progress and information effectively. Identifying and implementing ways to address improvement opportunities for the team is also a critical responsibility. Understanding member needs is essential, and the specialist will adjust their teaching style to create an inclusive environment that exceeds the needs of diverse individuals. They will collect, analyze, and report on course data, using appropriate software applications to obtain and enter valid data such as attendance and evaluations, and present findings to relevant parties. The specialist will educate and train members using evidence-based education techniques, ensuring that members learn about defined content areas and meet course objectives. They will design and update training materials, develop high-quality, culturally responsive multimedia health education materials, and maintain and update educational resources as needed. This role is vital in fostering a culture of learning and development within the organization, ultimately contributing to the overall mission of providing world-class care.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience teaching classes or conducting training programs for groups or individuals.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare environment or similar environment.

,

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition, or related field AND minimum three (3) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field, OR Minimum six (6) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field.

  • Knowledge of written communication, data entry, computer literacy, information gathering, business relationship management, conflict resolution, adult learning theory, and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification - Certified Professional in Wellness, Lifestyle, or Health Coaching.
