Responsibilities

  • Assist special education teachers in planning and implementing instructional programs for students with diverse abilities
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students, including academic, social, and emotional support
  • Help students develop independence and self-advocacy skills
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist with daily routines, including arrival and dismissal, meals, and personal care
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • TEA certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work with students with diverse abilities and needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
