Job Description:

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a skilled and compassionate Remote Triage Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Triage RN, you will provide clinically expert virtual triage services, serving as a liaison between patients and their physicians. You will assess presenting problems, utilize evidence-based triage protocols, and develop care advice and next-step recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, functioning as part of a highly effective team that consistently puts Patients First
• Establish positive first impressions with patients and customers, establishing a role as patient advocate
• Triage incoming telephone calls and electronic messages, prioritizing and resolving, involving the provider as appropriate
• Incorporate critical thinking to develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care based on identified patient needs
• Document all communications in the electronic medical record and schedule patient visits with providers as necessary
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and assist in specific process improvement projects

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• 2 years of ambulatory care experience
• Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Illinois
• Current AHA BLS Provider certification
• Preferred: BSN and specialty certification upon eligibility
