Part-time AVID Tutor Opportunity: Empower Middle School and High School Students to Succeed
Join our team of dedicated educators and make a meaningful impact on the lives of 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th-grade students! We are seeking skilled and motivated AVID Tutors to work with small groups of students during elective classes, facilitating collaborative study groups and utilizing AVID learning strategies to drive academic success. As an AVID Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students at various levels of academic achievement, advocating for their growth, and helping them reach their full potential.
This part-time opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of $13.00, with up to 4 hours of tutoring per day, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our ideal candidate is a team player who is willing to collaborate with AVID elective teachers, has a strong desire to support students, and is able to organize and follow through with assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate structured collaborative study groups of 5-7 students per hour
- Utilize AVID learning strategies and the AVID-specific tutoring process
- Work under the supervision of an AVID teacher
- Complete 8 hours of tutorial training
- Maintain a year-long commitment to the role
Qualifications:
- Able to complete 8 hours of tutorial training
- Able to make a year-long commitment
- Enrollment in a college or university is preferred but not necessary
- Willing to collaborate with the AVID elective teacher
- Desire to advocate for all students
- Ability to support students at various levels of academic success
- Ability to organize and follow through with assigned tasks
