Join Our Team as a Transition Teacher and Make a Difference in the Lives of Students!

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Transition Teacher to join our team at St. Clair County Regional Office of Education. As a Transition Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic readiness of students, providing research-based interventions, and collaborating with administrators, teachers, and parents to ensure the social, personal, and academic success of our students.

About the Role

  • Provide "real-time" pull-out interventions in core curricular and behavioral areas to students who are below grade level
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, and social workers to support students' academic, social, and personal needs
  • Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans and interventions to improve student achievement
  • Serve on the building level MTSS team and participate in data analysis meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Illinois Professional Educator License with Secondary and/or High School Math, Science, English Language Arts, or Social Science endorsements
  • Prior experience working with secondary at-risk students
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with integrating Technology Skills to deliver instruction

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Illinois Common Core Learning Standards, academic evaluation, and data collection methods
  • Best practices in curriculum delivery, instruction, and classroom management
  • Behavior intervention methods and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders
