Job Title: Remote Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer - Big Data Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Google Cloud Platform Data Engineer to join our team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale cloud analytics platforms using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Agile methodologies. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will work collaboratively to analyze and manipulate large datasets, develop data pipelines, and implement data warehousing solutions to support business growth and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement cloud-based data platforms using GCP services such as BigQuery, DataFlow, Pub/Sub, BigTable, and Cloud Storage
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, architectures, and data processing systems to support batch and real-time data processing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product owners, and engineers, to design and implement data-driven solutions
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance, and implement data governance and data lineage practices
• Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies and trends, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our data engineering practices

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based data platforms and GCP
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Java, or Python, and experience with Apache Beam and data processing frameworks
• Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and data governance principles
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer certification
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with DataPlex, Informatica EDC, or other data management tools
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
