Senior Data Engineer, IT Analytics (Remote, $35/Hour)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our IT Analytics team at American Airlines. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data engineering solutions that drive business growth and informed decision-making. This is a remote, full-time position offering a competitive salary of $35 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy data engineering solutions using Azure products and services, such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Event Hub, and Azure Databricks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop data-driven solutions that meet those needs.
• Work closely with data architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design and implement data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Develop and maintain large-scale data pipelines using cloud technologies, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Stream Analytics.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with team members to develop and implement best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or a related field, with a focus on cloud computing and data analytics.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience with Azure cloud technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or a related field, with a focus on cloud computing and data analytics.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and privacy principles.
• Certifications in Azure, such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
