Video Editor (Contract)

We’re looking for a talented and versatile Video Editor to join our Content Marketing team. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, but also calls for a creative thinker who can ideate and shape concepts that bring stories to life. You’ll focus primarily on YouTube (long-form) while also creating social videos and other marketing assets for current and new ventures. Experience with 2D animation and working with MOGRTs is required.

Day-to-day, you’ll be producing informational and educational content that makes complex financial topics clear and engaging. From explainers and infographics to motion-driven storytelling, you’ll craft videos that are both visually compelling and easy to understand. You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team of passionate creatives who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Projects you may be working on in this position include:

• Editing and packaging long-form YouTube videos from end-to-end

• Creating short-form social video adaptations

• Developing and executing creative video ideas that simplify complex concepts

• Designing infographics, explainers, and motion elements to support educational storytelling

• Contributing to brainstorms, creative discussions, and cross-functional projects with brand, design, and marketing partners

Where you can make an impact:

• Edit engaging, high-quality video content for YouTube and social platforms

• Incorporate 2D animation and motion graphics to elevate storytelling

• Adapt existing templates and create new visuals using MOGRTs

• Translate complex information into clear, visual narratives

• Balance creativity with efficiency in a fast-paced production environment

Your experience:

• 5+ years of video editing experience in-house or agency setting

• A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates creativity, technical skill, and the ability to deliver polished video content across YouTube and social platforms

• Experienced with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and comfortable collaborating with remote teams to keep projects on track and deadlines met

• Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects

• Experience with 2D animation, infographics, and MOGRTs

• Strong storytelling instincts with a sharp eye for pacing, clarity, and impact

• Comfortable working independently while contributing in a collaborative team setting

• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment

Pay Transparency & Contract Details:

• This is a W2 contract role

• The estimated schedule for this engagement would be 32 hours per week for a 3-month period

Where:

• This is a remote position and a person can be located anywhere in Canada (with the exception of Quebec).
