As Prismic scales, our commitment to technical excellence and innovation grows stronger. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform team and lead company-level initiatives that define the reliability, scalability, and observability of our core APIs.

What you will be doing?

-Scale Prismic’s public Content API, which already serves millions of requests daily, with an eye on latency, availability, and cost.

-Build customer-facing visibility into usage metrics (API calls, users, bandwidth), empowering teams to understand and optimise their plans.

-Implement API governance by introducing robust rate-limiting and clear separation of public and private APIs, ensuring fairness, stability, and security.

-Empower product teams with AI infrastructure by providing MCP-based creation workflow and seamless tooling communication, accelerating innovation and delivery.

Are you the one?

Ideally, you:

-Excel at architecting large-scale distributed systems and APIs that serve millions of requests daily with low latency and high reliability.

-Have deep experience with API gateways, rate limiting, quota enforcement, and fair usage controls.

-Think ahead about scaling challenges: multitenancy, regionalisation, data boundaries, compliance, and graceful degradation.

-Care about observability: you design systems with clear metrics, traces, and logs from day one.

-Balance innovation with stability: you can introduce new abstractions or architectures without compromising uptime.

-Influence across squads, aligning product, infra, and teams around clear trade-offs and durable standards.

-Multiply the impact of senior engineers by mentoring, reviewing, and building a culture of strong technical judgment.

-Stay hands-on when needed: whether debugging a complex distributed system, tuning queries, or landing the critical change that unblocks a team.

-Are curious about how AI can augment engineering, from anomaly detection to adaptive scaling, and think critically about its value.

Bonus points:

-Proven track record of leading infrastructure or platform-wide initiatives with measurable improvements in reliability, cost, or performance.

-Experience scaling multi-region, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
