Job Summary

As an Entry-Level CDL A Transporter Specialist, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to transport goods and merchandise between our distribution centers and Dollar General outlets. You will be required to drive regional routes, with weekly home visits, and ensure timely delivery of goods to meet customer expectations. Your primary focus will be on smoothly connecting our distribution centers with all Dollar General outlets across the country.

Key Responsibilities

* Safely operate a tractor-trailer to transport goods and merchandise between distribution centers and Dollar General outlets

• Drive regional routes, with weekly home visits, to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, including delivery times, weights, and any issues encountered
• Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure seamless logistics operations
• Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Collaborate with the logistics team to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations, including those related to safety, security, and environmental sustainability

Qualifications

* An Appropriate Class A License for Professional Driving

• At least 12 months of experience driving tractor-trailers with ease
• The required age to join is 21 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
• Valid medical certification and DOT physical required
