Job Summary

As a Security Analyst, Data Protection, you'll work with both IT and colleagues to provide guidance on how to securely handle sensitive information. You'll be responsible for maintaining and managing data loss prevention (DLP) tools, as well as investigating new solutions. The Information Security team is looking for a self-motivated, adaptable individual who is always looking for ways to improve and safeguard our environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer data security tools, including patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, testing, and report generation.
  • Review data loss prevention alerts within target timeframes.
  • Maintain data protection software upgrade schedules to test and upgrade our technical solutions continuously.
  • Resolve data loss alerts by implementing remediation procedures and defensive controls.
  • Test and tune data identification solutions to reduce false positives. Adhere to change management procedures to minimize risk of adverse impact.
  • Create guides to investigate, test, and implement new features within our tool sets.
  • Develop new policies using regex, AI, fingerprinting, and word references to monitor unique data types.
  • Collaborate with different areas of the business to report on known business processes handling sensitive information and provide best practice recommendations.
  • Ensure existing business processes meet data security best practices. Validate processes and propose security enhancements. Implement proposed enhancements to the organization.
  • Partner with the business to lead discovery efforts to identify sensitive data. Review results with data owners and provide guidance on how to securely store that data.
  • Review existing organization design, architecture, and policies and assess overall security posture against best practices.
  • Assess and implement new data protection solutions in alignment with cloud requirements. Operationalize these solutions to deliver value to the business.
  • Implement defensive controls in the cloud to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
  • Effectively communicate data security concepts to non-technical business leaders.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working with DLP technologies, including an understanding of how data in motion, data at rest, and data in use is monitored.
  • Strong technical knowledge of secure models, framework architectures, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with designing and automating data security procedures for cloud environments, including AWS.
  • Familiarity with securing structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience working with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.
  • Experience managing Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solutions.
  • Experience with deploying and managing data classification solutions.
  • Experience with managing devices using solutions in Microsoft Intune.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks like PCI and GDPR.
  • Innovative and adaptable working style, with a strong customer-centric mindset.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embracing of diverse individuals, thinking, and styles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, or SANS GIAC.
  • Cloud certifications like AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
