Job Summary
As an Experienced Entry-Level Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and experience in our retail pharmacy environment. You will be responsible for performing a range of tasks, including:
- Providing patient counseling and education on medication use, side effects, and interactions
- Processing prescriptions and ensuring accurate dispensing of medications
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of patient information
- Assisting with inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment
Key Responsibilities
* Provide patient counseling and education on medication use, side effects, and interactions
- Process prescriptions and ensure accurate dispensing of medications
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient information
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Develop and maintain knowledge of medications, including their uses, side effects, and interactions
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or pharmacy technician program from an accredited institution
- Current pharmacy technician licensure in the states within the region
- Experience performing prescription filling and processing, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
Preferred Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail setting, including prescription filling and processing, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance
- Immunization certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Experience with pharmacy software and technology systems, including electronic health records and pharmacy management systems
