Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst with a strong hybrid background across data engineering, business systems, and analytics. As a critical bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, you will support digital transformation efforts through clean data pipelines, stakeholder insights, system documentation, and user training. Key Responsibilities

As a Business Data Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing and interpreting large datasets to support business decisions
• Developing data validation processes and supporting governance initiatives
• Leading user testing, system walkthroughs, and documentation
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation
• Translating non-technical business needs into functional data-driven solutions
• Serving as a liaison between IT, business units, and external partners

Work Breakdown

Your work will be divided among the following areas:

• 50% Data Analysis, Reporting & Dashboard Development: Analyze complex data sets, develop reports, and create dashboards to support business decisions
• 25% Business Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and document technical deliverables
• 15% Testing, UAT, and Training Development: Lead user testing, system walkthroughs, and develop training materials
• 10% Stakeholder Communication & Strategic Input: Communicate with stakeholders, provide strategic input, and support decision-making processes

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• 4+ years of experience in data analysis, development, or database administration
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle)
• Experience with data modeling, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing best practices
• Proven ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical deliverables
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Clear, confident communication with executive-level presentation skills
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Ability to work independently while navigating cross-functional priorities

Preferred Skills and Experience

While not required, the following skills and experience are highly desirable:

• Experience working in high-volume transaction environments (e.g., transportation, tolling, payments)
• Familiarity with cloud database platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Scripting experience in Python, R, or similar languages
• Exposure to SDLC and Agile environments
