About the Job

As a Customer Engineer, Security, you will be instrumental in building and expanding relationships with our customers, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate for our security solutions. Your expertise will guide c-level executives, security leaders, architects, and analysts in leading projects forward, ensuring the successful implementation and optimization of our security solutions. This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, business savvy, and interpersonal skills, as you will accompany customers on their journey to discover and implement the best technology and solutions to secure their operations and ensure compliance. Your ability to lead with empathy, identify innovative solutions, and multiply your impact will be key to your success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Security Sales and Google Cloud teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer technical and compliance objections, and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
  • Demonstrate and validate the benefits of Google Cloud Security products in customer and partner environments, maintaining excellent technical knowledge across our portfolio.
  • Support Google Cloud Security opportunities and relationships, owning the technical aspects of solutions and delivering technical presentations, product and solution briefings, proofs-of-concepts, and demos to customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling product messaging to highlight the value proposition of our solutions, utilizing techniques such as presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and response documents.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as necessary, up to 50% of the time, to ensure face-to-face engagement and support.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
  • 7 years of experience in a technical sales engineering role, preferably in security or cloud native environments, with a strong background in cybersecurity (e.g., threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, as the role requires frequent engagement with customers and partners at their locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a technical field, or equivalent practical experience, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise and academic achievement.
  • Certification in the Cloud or Security industry, showcasing specialized knowledge and commitment to professional development in cybersecurity and cloud technologies.
  • Experience in implementing security solutions for enterprises, including threat detection and hunting, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems, highlighting your ability to apply technical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
  • Knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry, such as ransomware, attack frameworks, zero trust, etc., indicating your awareness of current challenges and innovations in the field.
  • Ability to speak publicly and deliver technical presentations with confidence and clarity, demonstrating strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, presentation, and active listening skills, essential for success in a role that requires collaboration, customer engagement, and technical troubleshooting.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$213,000, supplemented by a bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
