About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medication Assistance Pharmacy Technician II to join our team in a remote capacity. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission by providing safe, quality healthcare and building enduring relationships with our patients. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to our mission of helping people get well and live healthier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Review and Qualification: The Medication Assistance Pharmacy Technician II will review high-dollar self-pay accounts to determine eligibility for medication or implant assistance based on departmental policies. They will work with drug manufacturers to qualify patients and ensure timely completion of all qualifying accounts.
  • Communication and Coordination: The Medication Assistance Pharmacy Technician II will maintain ongoing communication with hospital departments regarding assigned accounts to facilitate efficient handling and resolution. They will keep logs of approved accounts by facility and ensure proper handling of charges on approved accounts.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Knowledge: The Medication Assistance Pharmacy Technician II will stay updated on applicable regulations, policies, and procedures by reviewing materials and attending in-services. They will demonstrate proficiency in using all relevant systems and programs within the department.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital pharmacy or healthcare setting with pharmacy knowledge required.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in a remote environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using relevant systems and programs within the department.
