Experienced Full Stack News Editor – Weekday Evening Movie & TV Content Development

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced News Editor to join our team at MovieWeb, the premier online destination for movie enthusiasts. As a key member of our Movie/TV News team, you'll be responsible for editing and publishing a minimum of 8 movie/TV articles per day, ensuring that our content is always fresh, exciting, and up-to-date.

Responsibilities
As a News Editor, you'll be responsible for:
- Editing and publishing a minimum of 8 movie/TV articles per day on the Movie/TV News team
- Ensuring there is content to be published and planned on current News topics
- Participating in writer development and general writer management
- Overseeing and facilitating writer communication in Slack/Asana
- Sending feedback to writers according to MovieWeb's standards (as per our writing guides)
- Working with new writers to develop their skills and help them adapt to MovieWeb's standards
- Working with existing writers to develop those suitable for internal development (staff writing, self-publishing, editing)
- Auditing Content Value and implementing best practices
- Ensuring daily and monthly News output goals are met
- Ideation and news sourcing support
- Must be available weekday evenings
Essential Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in news editing, content creation, or a related field
- Proven track record of editing and publishing high-quality content on a daily basis
- Strong knowledge of popular movie and TV content, including current releases and upcoming projects
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a talent for crafting engaging content
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Experience with writer development and management
- Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices
- Experience with content analytics and metrics
- Familiarity with Asana and Slack
