Job Overview

We are seeking experienced and passionate ESL Middle and High School English Virtual Tutors to join our team of dedicated educators. As a virtual tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with students who are first learning English and/or who speak English as a second language. You will provide tutoring services using our provided lesson content in an engaging, feature-rich virtual classroom. Our virtual tutors are scheduled with the same student for multiple sessions a week, most often at the same time, from week to week, allowing for a consistent and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality virtual tutoring services to English language learners in junior high and high school grades 6 to 12
• Use provided lesson content to deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions
• Establish a consistent tutoring schedule with the same student(s) for multiple sessions a week
• Communicate effectively with students, providing clear instructions and feedback
• Utilize online virtual tools and technology to deliver tutoring services
• Maintain a relatively consistent ongoing calendar availability, week to week, at the same time
• Participate in a self-paced curriculum orientation to access provided lesson content
• Engage and build rapport with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Essential Qualifications

• TESOL/TEFL/TESL Certificate preferred (must be uploaded at the time of application)
• Experience working with students who are first learning English and/or who speak English as a second language
• Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity
• Ability to effectively instruct and engage students with clear communication
• High comfort level with online virtual tools and technology
• Desktop or laptop using the Chrome browser, video camera, and a reliable/stable internet connection
• Residence and tutoring location within the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Current college students are welcome to apply with 1+ years of relevant experience
• Virtual tutoring experience a plus

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $18 per hour, with the option to earn $22 per hour for high school Algebra I, Algebra II, or Geometry tutoring sessions upon successful completion of an Algebra I assessment.
