Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the single-point-of-contact for our members, plan sponsors, and providers, answering questions and resolving issues with compassion and empathy. You will take ownership of each customer contact, connecting them with additional services as needed and providing customized interactions based on their individual needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer questions and resolve issues via phone calls from members, plan sponsors, and providers, serving as a single-point-of-contact
  • Takes ownership of each customer contact to resolve their issues and connect them with additional services as appropriate
  • Takes immediate action when confronted with a problem or made aware of a situation, seeking to understand the customer's circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs
  • Asks probing questions to identify underlying customer needs and provides related information to answer unasked questions
  • Provides customized interaction based on customer preference and individualized needs, creating an emotional connection with our members
  • Documents and tracks all contacts, events, and outcomes with members using appropriate systems and processes
  • Utilizes all relevant information to effectively influence member engagement and provides education to members to support them in managing their health
  • Guides members to the appropriate health resource, offering alternatives where appropriate, and acts with the best interest of the customer in mind
  • Resolves issues without or with limited management intervention, responding quickly to meet customer needs and resolve problems while avoiding over-committing

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Customer Service experience in a transaction-based environment, such as a call center or retail location, demonstrating the ability to be empathetic and compassionate
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High School Diploma Required

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in a health care or insurance environment
  • Knowledge of health care plans and benefits
  • Experience with customer service software and technology
