Experienced Medical Record/Data Entry Clerk/Project Support Professional – Revenue Recovery Department

Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Project Associate in our Revenue Recovery Department, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Project associate related duties:
+ Retrieving patient medical records from various Hospital systems + Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits + Extracting and entering necessary information from/to Hospital patient accounting systems + Making phone calls to Post-Acute Healthcare Facilities to obtain information needed on patients + Running and creating reports + Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team + Scanning and indexing of documents
- Data analysis and reporting:
+ Developing and maintaining databases and spreadsheets to track and analyze data + Creating reports and presentations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders + Identifying trends and patterns in data to inform business decisions
- Collaboration and communication:
+ Working closely with registered nurses, coding professionals, and billing experts to ensure seamless data exchange and collaboration + Communicating effectively with Post-Acute Healthcare Facilities to obtain necessary information + Providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 1-2 years of experience in medical records management, data entry, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with Hospital patient accounting systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in revenue recovery or medical records management
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management systems
- Certification in medical records management or a related field (e.g., RHIA, RHIT)
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
