Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our Information and Investigation group for blithequark Web-based features (DSS), a section under the blithequark Diversion and ESPN Innovation (DE&ET). As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of our data solutions, working closely with our Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to design, implement, and deliver high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the planning and development of our data items and data warehouses around Commitment and Maintenance Examination and Information Science
- Plan and develop flexible data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Large Data conditions (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
- Our tech stack includes Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flash, and Wind stream, and languages include Python, Scala
- Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
- Collaborate with Information Item Chiefs, Information Modelers, and Information Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
- Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data administration
- Ensure high operational productivity and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support obligation to our clients (Information Science, Information Examination groups)
- Be a proactive member and supporter of agile/scrum practice to ensure well-being and cycle enhancements for your team
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Solid SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets
- Experienced insight with distributed frameworks like Flash, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
- Solid programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
- Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query)
- Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e Wind current) and composing and maintaining Information Pipelines
- Solid in Data Modeling strategies and Data Warehousing standard systems and practices
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile approaches
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Cloud advances like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)
- Strong involvement in data governance and data quality initiatives
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and technologies
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools
