Experienced Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor in Information Sciences and Technology – Remote Opportunity for a Dynamic Academic Professional

As a key member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in a variety of courses, including introductory IT, information security, cybersecurity, project management, decision theory, programming, databases, networking, risk assessment, and risk management.

Penn State Altoona is a largely residential campus of 2,800 students, offering 26 baccalaureate degree programs and the first two years of 160 Penn State baccalaureate degrees. Key Responsibilities

* Teach a variety of courses in Information Sciences and Technology, including introductory IT, information security, cybersecurity, project management, decision theory, programming, databases, networking, risk assessment, and risk management

• Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning
• Assess student learning and provide feedback to students
• Stay current with developments in the field of Information Sciences and Technology and incorporate best practices into teaching and research
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and program initiatives
• Participate in departmental and university service activities, such as committee work and professional development

Essential Qualifications

* Master's degree or higher in an information technology-related field (terminal degree required for Assistant Teaching Professor rank)

• Strong commitment to undergraduate education and a record of effectiveness in teaching or a career in information technology
• Ability to teach a variety of courses in Information Sciences and Technology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience teaching online or in a remote capacity

• Familiarity with learning management systems and online course development tools
• Experience with curriculum development and program assessment
• Strong research and scholarship background in Information Sciences and Technology
