As a key member of our Teaching Learning Computing Center (TLCC), you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of our students.

About the Role

As a Part Time Teaching Lab Assistant, you will provide critical support to our faculty and students in the TLCC. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining files and safeguarding academic tests
  • Distributing instructional materials and equipment to students
  • Maintaining lab equipment in operational condition
  • Training for and obtaining certifications required by 3rd party testing entities
  • Assisting students with operation and duplication of course supplements
  • Providing tutoring assistance as needed
  • Administering and monitoring various placement tests, standardized tests, and distance education
  • Collaborating with tutors and student employees
  • Answering lab telephone and providing information to students and faculty
  • Assisting disabled students and special needs students

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of clerical experience
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others and establish effective relationships with faculty and students
  • General office skills, including experience with computer software, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Availability to work evening and Saturday hours

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, we prefer candidates with:

  • At least two years of clerical experience
  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Familiarity with testing and assessment procedures
  • Certification in a related field (e.g., teaching, testing, or education)
