Job Summary

As a Remote Healthcare Billing and Customer Service Representative, you will work as an extended business office representative on behalf of our clients, providing personalized support to patients and their families. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Using empathy and excellent communication skills to explain complex medical billing concepts and resolve account balances with patients and their families
  • Providing outstanding customer service and collaborating with patients to develop affordable payment plans and take payments by phone
  • Accurately documenting all calls and follow-ups in our software systems throughout each day
  • Supporting your fellow team members with consistent attendance, excellent work ethic, and a caring team focus
  • Continuously improving your skills and knowledge with supportive coaching and feedback from your manager and team leads, as well as ongoing training and development opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide empathetic and personalized support to patients and their families, explaining complex medical billing concepts and resolving account balances

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure clear understanding of medical bills and payment options

Essential Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex billing issues and develop effective solutions
  • Proficiency in computer software and systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in a healthcare or medical billing environment

  • Certification in medical billing or a related field (e.g. CPC, CMRS)
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding principles, including ICD-10 and CPT
  • Experience with patient advocacy and account resolution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex billing issues
