Job Description Summary

The Senior Customer Solutions Consultant (CSE, Professional Services) at blithequark is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced professional to bring their technical expertise and passion for customer satisfaction to the forefront. As a Senior Customer Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise to our customers, ensuring successful post-sales deployments of blithequark products, and driving business growth through innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Customer Solutions Consultant will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Customer Services (75%): Provide technical services to customers, including working on complex project scopes, contributing to design and deployment of blithequark products, and creating proof of concept/proof of value technology analysis and pilots. You will also conduct external and internal technical presentations/trainings, participate in technical forums, and apply your subject matter knowledge to solve common technical issues.
  • Technical Leadership (25%): Provide technical leadership and expertise to our customers, including leading a team, communicating project status and risks, and giving sound technical advice. You will be responsible for knowing the architecture, versions, and requirements of blithequark products and determining appropriate technical resource requirements for project completion.

Essential Qualifications and Soft Skills

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • 5-7 years of relevant technical experience
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and able to work under pressure
  • Experience in complex IT project implementations, customizations, and maintenance
  • An analytical mindset to analyze test results and facilitate defect resolution
  • Organized and methodical, with the ability to deal with numerous tasks
  • Fluent in written and verbal English

Technical Skills

We are looking for candidates with technical skills in two or more of the following areas:

  • IBM Enterprise COBOL or PLI programming experience
  • System-level experience of IBM CICS, IMS, and JCL
  • Relational databases, such as IBM DB2/UDB, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
  • Windows operating system
  • Linux/UNIX operating system
  • Knowledge of major Cloud Provider infrastructure and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, Docker/Kubernetes

Desired Project Experience

Practical experience in mainframe application modernization projects is highly desirable, including:

  • Experience with tools and methodologies used to migrate mainframe workloads via hardware/middleware emulation, automated code conversion, and re-platforming
  • Experience with COBOL modernization and porting application code across platforms
  • Familiarity with agile engineering practices like Test Automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), DevOps, and Test Data Management
  • Experience developing, deploying, and tuning data modernization solutions for mainframe such as IMS/DB, IDMS, ADABAS, and VSAM data migration
  • Experience with implementing and operating DevOps and Agile tools/platforms across some part of the development lifecycle
  • Experience configuring automation pipelines in GitHub, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or similar tools

Other Preferred Skills

We also prefer candidates with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with blithequark COBOL-based products – Enterprise Developer, Visual COBOL, Enterprise Server, Server Express, Net Express
  • Any additional mainframe language or environment, such as REXX, Assembler, Natural, Adabas, etc.
  • Relevant Business and IT Architecture Certifications, such as AWS Solution Architect Professional, Microsoft AZURE Solution Architect, Google Cloud Certification, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), etc.
  • Proficiency in another EU language
