We're looking for an experienced Welsh Speaking Customer Service Advisor to join our team at blithequark, where you'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the Discretionary Welfare Fund (DAF) contract.

The Role

As a Welsh Speaking Customer Service Advisor, you'll be the first point of contact for applicants and system administrator for the NEC system, allowing applications to be input and processed. You'll work in a fast-paced office environment, managing and processing data with accuracy and attention to detail. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing emergency payments and individual assistance grant applications
  • Managing and processing data in a fast-paced office environment
  • Accurate data recording
  • Liaising with applicants to process information into the DAF solution
  • Undertaking eligibility checks with the applicant, seeking information direct from the applicant, utilising additional sources for confirmation
  • To fully understand the legislation and criteria involved in awarding emergency payments and individual assistance grants and process applications accordingly
  • Complying with Processing Services Customer Charter when dealing with all incoming and outbound calls in both English and Welsh
  • Working as part of the team in achieving targets set by the Service Manager
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence relating to Local Welfare Provision either by telephone, email, or letter
  • Dealing with and responding to enquiries from clients, citizens, and internal colleagues in a positive and professional manner
  • Acting as a key deliverer of the DAF contract

Essential Qualifications

* Fluency in Welsh (conversational level)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Accurate data recording and management skills
  • Ability to understand and comply with legislation and criteria involved in awarding emergency payments and individual assistance grants

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role

  • Knowledge of the Discretionary Welfare Fund (DAF) contract and its processes
  • Ability to work in a team environment and achieve targets set by the Service Manager
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software systems
