Remote Junior Illustrator - Childrens Books & Digital Art

Key Responsibilities

• * Collaborate with senior illustrators, writers, and editors to visually conceptualize childrens stories and digital content.
• * Create expressive, original illustrations aligned with project briefs and target age groups (primarily ages 3–10).
• * Translate written narratives into sequential art, ensuring visual consistency and emotional resonance.
• * Work with digital tools to prepare artwork in required formats, resolutions, and layouts.
• * Take constructive feedback and revise artwork based on editorial and creative direction.
• * Maintain project deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• * Contribute to brainstorming sessions and bring fresh, imaginative ideas to the table.
• Required Skills and Qualifications
• * Strong drawing, sketching, and coloring skills, particularly for characters, animals, and imaginative scenes.
• * Proficiency in digital illustration tools (such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, or similar).
• * Ability to adapt artistic style based on brand or book requirements.
• * Solid understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.
• * Basic knowledge of file formats and exporting illustrations for print and digital publishing.
• * Strong communication and time management skills.
• Experience
• * 0–2 years of professional experience in illustration or digital art.
• * A portfolio showcasing relevant work for childrens content is essential (even personal or student projects are welcome).
• * Internship or freelance experience in illustration is a plus but not required.
