Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our hybrid call center team. As a key member of our team, you will serve as a liaison, responding to inquiries via phone and email about COBRA, billing eligibility for insurance plans, and general questions about policies and payments. Under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor, you will work closely with our clients to provide exceptional service and support, while also learning and growing in your role.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Handling incoming calls and making outbound follow-ups as needed, updating phone status accordingly
  • Navigating multiple systems, including phone software, documentation tools, and online resources
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records of calls and actions
  • Responding to inquiries via phone and email about COBRA, billing eligibility for insurance plans, and general questions about policies and payments
  • Providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients

Schedule and Work Environment

This is a temporary position requiring a 3-month commitment, with strong potential for hire. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM. While this position is primarily remote, you must be flexible and available to report on-site if needed. Office locations include Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Utica.

Pay and Benefits

The pay rate for this position is $16.29/hr, with the potential to increase to $18.22/hr upon hire. As a valued member of our team, you will also be eligible for a range of benefits, including:

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or call center environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry
  • Knowledge of COBRA and billing eligibility for insurance plans
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
