Job Summary

The Provider Data Entry Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of provider demographic and contract affiliation information within our health plan system. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and efficiency in processing incoming requests to optimize claims adjudication. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for receiving provider information from external sources, validating the provided information, and applying your knowledge and experience to ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of provider records in our computer system.

Essential Functions

As a Provider Data Entry Specialist, you'll be responsible for the following key functions:

  • Receiving provider information from external sources for system updates and validating the provided information
  • Accurately entering and maintaining provider records in our computer system, emphasizing precision and timeliness
  • Conducting regular audits of loaded provider records to ensure both quality and financial accuracy, with documented feedback provided when necessary
  • Supporting system/health plan integration efforts and training existing staff and new hires
  • Assisting in system-related testing activities
  • Maintaining reliable attendance based on the agreed-upon schedule
  • Understanding and compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in data entry with a strong focus on timeliness
  • Excellent project management skills, including meeting deadlines and effectively managing time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
  • A willingness and ability to learn internal systems, particularly QNXT
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adherence to arenaflex's policies and confidentiality requirements
  • Reliable attendance based on the agreed-upon schedule
  • Understanding and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers

Required Education and Experience

To qualify for this role, you must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Preferred candidates will have 1+ years of managed care experience.
