The Role
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Designer to join our Games Studio team. As a Senior Technical Designer, you will partner closely with the Layout Team to implement features and content in a clever, robust, and pragmatic way. You will act as a force multiplier, extending the capability and capacity of the Layout Team. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us build a brand-new, AAA, multi-platform game that will captivate audiences worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Leverage your UE knowledge to assist and teach other designers
- Raise the technical capability and rigor of the design team through promoting correct practices
- Proactively seek out workflow and tool upgrades
- Assist designers troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
- Implement strong, maintainable content and features in Unreal/Blueprint
- Write design specs, vet them with stakeholders, and make clever changes
Essential Qualifications
* Expert knowledge of Unreal Engine and its capabilities (esp. Blueprint, UMG, Animation Blueprint, Gameplay Framework)
- Foundations of 3D math
- Good-sized programming skills with C++
- 2+ years of experience in a technical design position
- 1+ shipped titles in Unreal
- Experience delivering great multiplayer games
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for gaming, incubating, building, and shipping video games
Preferred Qualifications
* Programming experience in Python, C#, and/or Lua
- Art and animation skills useful for early gameplay prototypes (e.g. the ability to model, rig, and animate simple placeholder meshes)
