Pharmaceutical Promotional Copywriter (Remote)

Location: Remote, United States (must work Eastern Standard Time) Job Type: Contract, ongoing opportunity, 20 hours per week

Compensation

Range: $60–$70 per hour, W2 Position: Copywriter (Pharma) The Copywriter (Pharma) is responsible for developing compelling creative content within brand guidelines and strategic objectives across a wide variety of digital media. The copywriter must exhibit strong writing skills, collaborate with an agile team to ensure quality, verbal and visual consistency, timeliness of material, and adherence to compliance and regulatory restrictions. Keeping informed of business challenges and competitor strategies is critical for success.

Responsibilities

  • Write creative, effective marketing copy according to project specifications/creative brief across various mediums including digital, social, email, and banners.
  • Adapt existing campaign messaging for use across all digital platforms.
  • Keep the customer experience top of mind when making recommendations.
  • Research clients, their competitors, and the target audience to support creative strategy and inform the execution.
  • Provide writing support for assigned client group(s), as well as supporting projects from other clients as demand and scheduling requires.
  • Collaborate with design team and agile team, as needed to meet specific project objectives.
  • Produce clear and credible copy and be accountable for the final development of creative assets.
  • Ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and that the project overall meets or exceeds the writing objectives.
  • Keep annotations organized and clean throughout the creative development process so that submissions can be completed efficiently.
  • Ensure messaging brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions.
  • Adhere to regulatory and compliance regulations.
  • Execute writing requests with a high level of accuracy, ensuring all client edits are implemented correctly, spell check was run, facts were confirmed.
  • Respond to all requests and communications in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Work to improve the team's overall performance and embrace a collaborative approach.
  • Edit and proofread material as demand and scheduling requires.
  • Support leadership in helping to build a unified team mindset.
  • Engage in professional development to continuously grow in profession and remain competitive with outside services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, journalism, communications or related field.
  • External or in-house agency experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of pharmaceutical promotional writing experience required.
  • Portfolio required.
  • Experience writing copy for HCP digital marketing materials.
  • Proficiency in AMA Manual of Style.
  • Demonstrate proficient expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Embraces the agile working environment where you will be expected to collaborate with fellow agile team members and the MLR team. This includes providing recommendations during MLR reviews.
  • Able to work in an ever‑changing, dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of writing applications in traditional and emerging channels.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent voice and audience focus in writing.
  • Ability to streamline verbose content to the focus on the main message in a concise, effective manner.
  • Consistent quality control in work.
  • Understanding of specific channels or vertical markets as required by job function.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt style of copy to various audiences, purposes or media.
  • Competency presenting creative work.
  • Experience working within legal and compliance parameters.
