About the Role

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will work closely with the Quality Control Standards and Compliance Team to drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and growth by identifying statistical patterns and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. You will assist in using data to create, present, and make suggestions for innovative ideas and projects, as well as perform basic analysis to alleviate the risk of resistance through process improvements. These improvements will support arenaflex's objectives, including keeping costs low, modernizing the business, and improving compliance, thereby giving arenaflex an edge in the industry.

Responsibilities and Expectations

The responsibilities and expectations of the Data Analyst Intern may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform and assist others in the Quality Control group in ideal data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data components.
  • Assist in creating and presenting results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical clients and leaders.
  • Assist in exploring ad-hoc requests arising due to emerging maintenance issues and provide logical answers to enable Senior Leadership to make business decisions while adjusting existing project responsibilities.
  • Present insights, patterns, and potential recommendations by using data visualization tools supporting the relevant marks of the investigation to ease partner understanding.
  • Assist in creating and disseminating specific queries to pull and coordinate data from various sources, outlining the rhythm, and approving the need of the data requirements.
  • Identify irregularities in processes through reviews/audits and convey findings to the Team.
  • Assess the effectiveness of processes and methods by observing for patterns and errors.
  • Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the forefront of every decision.
  • May perform other work responsibilities as directed by Group Leader.

Requirements and Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze large datasets with care and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively listen, understand, and convey ideas and present them in writing, verbally, or through presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to evaluate business issues, identify valuable opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase, is a plus.
  • Ability to grasp the issue, summarize, and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning.
  • Willingness to use PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications is a plus.
  • Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented, help/group-focused environment.
  • Ability to focus on responsibilities diligently and be a self-motivated individual.
  • Past internship experience in a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data appropriately.
  • Ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
