Job Summary:

We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chat Moderator to join our remote team. As a Chat Moderator, you'll be responsible for ensuring the chat of our official Discord server remains a safe and enjoyable space for all users. This part-time, flexible position requires a strong understanding of community management principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Moderate the chat of our official Discord server, ensuring that all users adhere to our community guidelines and rules.

• Delete messages that violate our community guidelines and rules.
• Ban users who repeatedly violate our community guidelines and rules.
• Mute users who have violated our community guidelines and rules.
• Investigate reports made by users about potential rule violations.
• Collaborate with our team to develop and implement effective community management strategies.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to users, addressing their concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Stay up-to-date with our community guidelines and rules, ensuring that all moderation actions are fair and consistent.

Essential Qualifications:

* Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in community management, customer service, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with users from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong understanding of community management principles, including conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Discord and its moderation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with community management software and tools, such as Discord, Slack, or Asana.

• Knowledge of online safety and security best practices.
• Experience working with diverse user groups, including individuals from underrepresented communities.
