As a data entry specialist at arenaflex, you'll be part of a dynamic team that emphasizes accuracy and attention to detail. You'll work independently, with minimal supervision, to read and enter data from various customer service documents into our computer systems. Your role is crucial to the smooth operation of our company, as you verify the information before entering it and ensure consistency in format.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

As a data entry specialist at arenaflex, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reading customer and shipping orders submitted in person, via the print catalog, and online; deciphering handwriting that can be challenging to read
  • Keying data into specific Microsoft Excel fields (much of the work for online orders should already be done for you); 10 percent of orders tend to be in person, 15 percent via catalog, and the rest online
  • Reading and keying in data from other source documents
  • Verifying that the data is accurate before entering it
  • Ensuring that data is consistent throughout the system (e.g., if a customer has moved to a new address, you would check that the new address is in other pertinent places in the system)
  • Reporting any data errors or anomalies to your supervisor
  • Keeping accurate and updated logs of ongoing work
  • Performing filing, copying, and other administrative duties for about three hours per day; expect to spend about five hours daily on data entry keying

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Reading comprehension
  • Critical thinking

  • Good communication skills
  • Patience for repetitive work

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Reading knowledge of English (about 5 to 10 percent of our orders are also in Spanish)
  • One to two years of experience with data entry and/or filing
  • Social perceptiveness
  • Service orientation
