Culinary Internship Program

Our Culinary Internship Program is a paid opportunity for culinary students to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and inspirational kitchen culture. As a Culinary Intern, you'll work closely with experienced culinary mentors to develop your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced and supportive environment. You'll have the chance to rotate through various kitchen stations, engage with guests, and learn about wellness and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As a Culinary Intern, you'll be responsible for:

  • Preparing menu items across all kitchen stations
  • Rotating through various stations: pizza/pasta, deli, salad bar, grill, and international cuisine
  • Engaging with guests and tailoring plates to their dietary needs
  • Reviewing culinary and front-of-house standards
  • Learning about wellness and sustainability initiatives
  • Adhering to "platinum service" customer service standards
  • Consistently practicing safety and sanitation protocols
  • Assisting with catering events, including setup and execution
  • Developing professional relationships and enhancing interpersonal skills

In addition to daily on-the-job training, our Culinary Internship Program offers a range of value-added program events, including:

  • Meetings with arenaflex leadership and mentors
  • Connection to subject matter experts, including diversity and inclusion, HR, marketing, safety and sanitation, wellness and sustainability, and finance teams
  • Optional arenaflex Learning and Development Courses (FARECheck Food Allergy Basics, Servsafe Food Handler, DAWSO Dining Associate Workplace Safety Orientation)
  • Networking opportunities with other interns
  • Exit interview with your internship team

Requirements

To be eligible for the arenaflex Culinary Internship Experience Program, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a college or professional culinary program and provide appropriate documentation
  • Meet your university's GPA requirement for Internship
  • Successfully complete sanitation standards training
  • Successfully complete relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework
  • Be available to work 20-40 hours a week based on business needs and internship requirements
  • College credit is not required, but we will provide appropriate documentation if necessary
