About the Role: Temporary Customer Service Associate

This temporary position is designed for dynamic professionals who are passionate about delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. You will be a vital front‑line ambassador, handling checkout operations, assisting guests with product inquiries, and ensuring that every interaction reflects arenaxflex’s high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model and embody arenaxflex’s signature customer‑service traits, including proactive assistance, attentive listening, and courteous engagement.
  • Operate the assigned cash register efficiently, processing sales, cash, credit, and gift‑card transactions with accuracy.
  • Provide fast, friendly, and reliable checkout service while maintaining compliance with all state and local regulations for regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
  • Engage shoppers and patients by greeting them warmly, offering product knowledge, and recommending suitable items, trade‑ups, or complementary products.
  • Handle transaction exceptions—including voids, returns, refunds, rain checks, and exchanges—according to arenaxflex policies.
  • Maintain clean, well‑merchandised counters and shelves; conduct regular inventory checks, price tagging, and stock rotation using the first‑in‑first‑out method.
  • Implement arenaxflex asset‑protection procedures to minimize shrinkage and protect company assets.
  • Build and refresh promotional displays, seasonal layouts, and point‑of‑sale signage as directed by store leadership.
  • Assist with food‑service compliance, ensuring raw and pre‑cooked items are separated and stored according to safety protocols.
  • Provide specialized assistance in the photo area, including digital passport photo services, poster printing, and promotional photo product sales.
  • Manage web‑pick‑up orders via Picture Care Plus: monitor incoming orders, pick items accurately, and deliver completed orders to waiting customers.
  • Support both interior and exterior store upkeep, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests.
  • Uphold all arenaxflex policies, fostering respectful relationships with coworkers and contributing to a positive team dynamic.
  • Complete special assignments and ad‑hoc projects as assigned by management.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs and complete required performance‑linked learning modules (PPLs) to stay current on product knowledge and service standards.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in retail, hospitality, or customer service is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a retail or customer‑service role, preferably handling cash registers and point‑of‑sale systems.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a genuine desire to help guests.
  • Basic math proficiency for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs, reflecting the physical nature of the role.
  • Reliable attendance and adherence to scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast‑changing retail environment while maintaining composure under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications & Desirable Attributes

  • Experience with regulated product sales (e.g., alcohol, tobacco) and familiarity with compliance requirements.
  • Previous exposure to photo‑service technology or digital imaging equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and prevent theft or loss, contributing to loss‑prevention initiatives.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer literacy.
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor with a natural ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to share best practices and mentor fellow associates.
