Your role in helping us shape the future: We are looking for a motivated journalism student who is interested in learning about consumer advice editing. You will learn about our unique and highly respected brand of advice journalism; the tools and strategies that power a major media brand on the cutting edge of the information age; how to edit content for clarity, style and flow; SEO best practices; and how to produce and illustrate articles in our content management system. Responsibilities
- Perform fact-checking
- Identify and catalog articles that need to be updated
- Update, edit and optimize older stories
- Create videos and other multimedia products for social media
- Actively and enthusiastically participate in training and team activities
- Assist with research or administrative tasks as needed
- Help research and write advice-oriented content and articles
Requirements
- Eligible candidates must be one of the following: Part-time or full-time students who have completed 48-plus credit hours (rising juniors/seniors and graduate students) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism and maturity in the workplace
- Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of MSOffice Suite and Google Docs
- 3.0 GPA or above preferred
- 10 weeks; starting Monday, June 1, 2026, through Friday, Aug. 7, 2026
- We expect interns to work 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday
- All candidates must be able to work a hybrid in-office work schedule from our Washington, D.C. or New York offices
- Internship pays $17.50 per hour
- Interns will be paired with a buddy (a mentor) in their office location for the duration of their internship.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of AP style
- SEO-savvy and some familiarity with Google Analytics, Semrush or other SEO tools
- Interest and/or familiarity in writing consumer advice content
- Video and graphics capability
- Social media savvy
