Title: Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations
Description: The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations leads collegewide research, strategy, and execution of cultivating relationships with foundations, corporations, and other grant making organizations. Working collaboratively with institutional leadership and faculty, they will identify and obtain grants to support priority institutional projects, faculty research, and special programs. The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations serves as a central clearinghouse for all grant requests and as the point of contact for program staff from grant making organizations. The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is also responsible for grants management and reporting for the institution.
Serving on the Institutional Advancement Leadership Team and reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will contribute to college advancement strategic planning, goalsetting, and developing key metrics to measure success. As a leader and coach, the Director will also embrace a positive work environment, collaborate with colleagues and institutional leadership, provide counsel to the Vice President, and is intrinsically motivated to contribute to individual, programmatic, and organizational goals.
Remote/hybrid work may be an option with this position.
Responsibilities
- The Director is actively engaged in working to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the College
- Identify corporate and foundation prospects and develop effective solicitation strategies to secure funding for campus priority initiatives
- Submit proposals including writing the narrative, organizing support documents, distributing draft proposals for review, and preparing grant package for mailing
- Research foundation, corporate and government funding sources and prospects in response to current and future institutional priorities and identify promising opportunities
- Provide faculty and staff with information regarding grant resources and deadlines through a website and grant newsletter
- Plan visits to foundations and corporations for the program and institutional leadership
- Provide thoughtful, consistent and appropriate stewardship through timely submission of reports
- Co-manage development assistant and contract grant writer(s); also manage student interns
- The Director serves as liaison with the Office of Academic Affairs concerning corporate and foundation relations
- Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external constituents
- Manage post-award requirements and deadlines for reporting
- Occasional travel and staffing of events (WickWeek, True Blue, Commencement, etc.) during evenings and on weekends
- The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is expected to comply with all applicable College, Federal, State, local and associational regulations.
- As a representative of the College, the Director of Corporate and Foundation and Relations is expected to comport themselves in a professional manner at all times, both on and off campus.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Supervisory experience a plus
- High level of communication skills verbally and written across multiple disciplines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)
- Experience working with a CRM and other fundraising tracking software
- Ability to maintain deadlines
- Must be able to use all types of standard office equipment
- Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
- Integrity and professionalism
- Knowledge of foundation, corporate and government grant making
- Understanding of budgets and resource allocation
- Ability to develop strategies to achieve fundraising goals, analyze results and adjust plans to reflect those results
