[Remote] Adjunct Lecturer-MA Applied Policy Analysis-Data Ethics

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Goucher College’s Graduate & Professional Studies is seeking non-tenure-track adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses in the M.A. in Policy Analytics program. The role involves teaching a course on Data Ethics, focusing on the ethical implications of data use and engaging students in understanding public policy design and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate courses within the M.A. in Policy Analytics (MAPA) program
  • Maintain a Canvas site for course resources
  • Engage students from diverse backgrounds
  • Deepen students’ understanding of the interactions between the practical use of analytical tools and methods for evaluating, designing, and improving public policies

Skills

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Political Science, or other social sciences, with strong quantitative method training
  • Demonstrated ability to use at least one major data tool like R or Python
  • At least one year of experience teaching at the college level in data analysis, research methods, or quantitative reasoning
  • Comfortable working with students from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds, including those without strong math or coding foundations
  • A Ph.D., J.D., or other terminal degree in a relevant field, such as Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Political Science, or other social sciences, with strong quantitative method training
  • Experience teaching data ethics at the graduate level in person and/or online
  • Experience teaching graduate-level courses in data analysis, research methods, or quantitative reasoning
  • Ability to teach diverse learners (e.g., students with policy, nonprofit, or humanities backgrounds) and guide students through individual projects and team-based work
