JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Behrend is accepting applications for an Assistant Softball Coach/Coordinator of Athletics Game Management. This position is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with management of the organization, development of the student athlete, and leadership of the baseball program and the mission and core values of the Athletic Department and University. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in preparing and presenting scouting materials and film exchange
• Practice planning and skill development,
• Organization of team travel
• Purchasing/inventory of equipment
• Organization of sports camps
• Coordinating visiting team requests
• Coordinating with athletic department personnel and other University units

The Assistant Coach also has responsibility for supervising student managers and other ancillary personnel, coordinating team community service, and representing the Head Coach at intercollegiate athletics, alumni, and University events when required. This position also assists with booster club and fund raising activities and performing other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, while adhering to all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations and promoting the core values and strategic goals of intercollegiate athletics. Duties of the game manager include assisting with the set up and tear down of game facilities, meeting and greeting officials and teams, crowd control, and other duties as assigned. Penn State Behrend?s athletic facilities are expanding and updating to keep pace with the growth and success of our intercollegiate athletics programs. We have a lighted, artificial-turf field soccer and lacrosse complex, an eight-lane composite track with a separate area for field events in our track and field complex. Our baseball and softball complex has two fields, each with irrigation, in-ground dugouts, bullpens, and batting cages. Our Junker Center has three all-purpose courts, seating for 1,600, and eight-lane swimming pool, running track, jumping pits, aerobics room, and strength-training room. We have also just opened the new, 52,700-square-foot Erie Hall, that includes a three-court gymnasium, training rooms, and support space for the college?s NCAA athletics teams. On-campus sand volleyball courts and multiple intramural fields are available for all students to use. Penn State Behrend also sits on the edge of Wintergreen Gorge, an 11,00-year-old chasm that?s a spectacular backdrop for a run or a hike.
