Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Entry Level Pharmacy Technician - Customer Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our customer care team, you'll be responsible for contacting provider offices to clarify prescription information, ensuring safe and accurate medication dispensing. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within digital pharmacy systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage outbound calls to provider offices for prescription clarifications - Document communication and outcomes in pharmacy software systems - Collaborate with pharmacists and internal teams to resolve outstanding prescription issues - Perform ancillary tasks to support prescription processing - Uphold HIPAA standards and company policies during all interactions - Develop and maintain strong relationships with providers and their staff - Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and providers - Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active pharmacy technician license or certification, as required by state - Previous pharmacy or healthcare communication experience preferred - Strong communication and organizational skills - Comfortable using digital tools and pharmacy software systems - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills - Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and pharmacy software systems - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance - Previous experience in a customer-facing role - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues
Work Environment
- Regularly stand to communicate and engage with patients and colleagues - Frequently use your hands for handling documentation, accessing information, and ensuring smooth operations - Occasionally stand and walk within the facility - Capable of lifting and moving items, even up to 50 pounds - Work predominantly indoors in a collaborative setting with peers and pharmacists
