London Startup Club is seeking a part-time, remote Financial Analyst to support the financial planning and decision-making needs of the organization. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights on revenue and expenses to inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial data to provide insights on revenue, expenses, and profitability across content, products, and services
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports and dashboards
  • Analyze financial statements, performing variance and trend analyses
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Help evaluate new initiatives, pricing strategies, and growth opportunities by building simple financial models and scenario analyses
  • Collaborate with the founder and small team to translate financial findings into clear, actionable recommendations that support strategic and operational decisions

Skills

  • Strong foundation in Finance, with the ability to understand core financial concepts and apply them to a digital and creator-focused business
  • Proficiency in Financial Planning and Financial Reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and preparing clear, structured financial summaries
  • Advanced Analytical Skills with experience working with data, performing variance and trend analysis, and building basic financial models
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze Financial Statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) to derive actionable insights
  • Comfort using spreadsheets and analytics tools (e.g., Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with BI tools is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
  • Self-directed, organized, and reliable in a remote work environment, with the ability to manage part-time hours and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in small business, startups, or creator economy is a plus
