[Remote] Senior Data Engineer

Recruiting Wisdom is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will specialize in designing and implementing modern cloud data solutions on the Snowflake platform. The role focuses on developing scalable data infrastructure and ensuring efficient data pipelines to transform raw data into actionable insights for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our clients technical team and business users to design, implement, and manage scalable big data solutions and cloud data warehouses across Snowflake deployments on AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Develop, test, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure seamless data integration, processing, and delivery to various data consumers
  • Integrate DataOps practices, promoting automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) for data pipelines, and fostering a collaborative environment
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python, and other ‘big data’ technologies
  • Build analytics tools to support data quality and usability across data stages
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business users by translating complex business needs into clear architectural direction, delivery roadmaps, and scalable data solutions

Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering with a focus on big data and cloud data warehousing solutions (Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery)
  • Strong expertise with Snowflake data warehouse and data lake environments
  • Proficient in Modern Data Stack ETL/ELT tools like FiveTran, dbt, Matillion
  • Deep understanding of DataOps principles, with experience in tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes for data pipeline CI/CD
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data structures, and big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
  • Experience in optimizing and tuning cloud data pipelines and processing for performance and cost-efficiency
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and address complex data challenges
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
