Remote Automotive Diagnostic Technician - Advanced Systems

Remote Full-time Live

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join their innovative, remote-first team. This position focuses on the complex diagnostics of advanced automotive systems, including electric vehicle (EV) powertrains, sophisticated ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), and complex infotainment/connectivity platforms. You will be working from your own fully equipped workshop or a designated remote workspace, leveraging cutting-edge remote diagnostic tools and software. Your primary responsibilities will include performing in-depth remote diagnostics on a wide range of vehicle makes and models, interpreting complex diagnostic data, and providing clear, actionable repair recommendations to field technicians or end-users. You will meticulously document diagnostic procedures, findings, and resolutions, contributing to a comprehensive knowledge base. This role requires exceptional problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of vehicle electrical systems, CAN bus networks, sensor technologies, and powertrain control modules. You will stay abreast of the latest automotive technologies and diagnostic techniques through continuous learning and professional development. The ability to troubleshoot effectively without direct physical access to the vehicle is paramount. Essential qualifications include ASE certifications (Master Technician preferred), particularly in areas like G1 (Automotive Alternative Fuel and High Voltage Systems) and A6 (Electrical/Electronic Systems). A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician, with a strong emphasis on diagnostics of complex electronic and electrical systems, is required. Proven experience with diagnostic scan tools (e.g., Autel, Snap-on, dealer-specific tools) and oscilloscopes is mandatory. Familiarity with remote diagnostic platforms and software is a significant advantage. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities, are crucial for effective remote collaboration and reporting. A dedicated, secure, and distraction-free remote work environment with high-speed internet is necessary. This is a unique opportunity to pioneer remote automotive diagnostics in
