[Remote] Technical Business Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Skylo is a pioneering company in satellite connectivity, aiming to eliminate coverage blind spots by connecting smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites. They are seeking a Technical Business Analyst responsible for reporting, data analysis, and implementing data strategies to enhance scalability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design/own regular reporting for Skylo’s internal and external stakeholders
- Create, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced queries to support data analysis, reporting, and operational needs
- Lead and design automation efforts for repeatable processes, such as reconciliations, to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads
- Design and implement data strategies that align with business goals, ensuring scalability and adaptability
- Build bespoke live data dashboards, integrating front-end and back-end components to deliver real-time insights for decision-making
- Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security
- Present actionable insights and supporting data to Skylo executives
- Draft executive analytical narratives from dashboard outputs using AI; validate and refine before presentation
- Use AI tools to automate recurring analytical narratives: reconciliation summaries, anomaly callouts, and exec briefings
- Build and maintain reusable prompt workflows that translate stakeholder questions into structured SQL or dashboard specs
Skills
- 3-5+ yrs in data analysis or related field, 1 yr of leadership experience
- Bachelors Degree: Analytics, Finance, Economics, Comp Science or other related degree path
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects
- Active daily use of AI for code generation, data analysis, or documentation; can construct effective prompts for Skylo-specific data contexts
- Proven experience working with large-scale datasets in relational databases and cloud-based environments
- Extensive experience working in SQL, Python, Excel, at least one industry standard BI tool
- Ability to identify trends, anomalies, and insights in large and complex datasets
- Demonstrated use of AI to accelerate a recurring data workflow; can describe the before/after and what you built
- Exceptional ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders in clear, actionable terms
- Experience using AI to generate or maintain data governance documentation (data dictionaries, quality rules, lineage descriptions)
- Experience in predictive modeling and analytics is a plus
- Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field is a plus
