[Remote] Staff AI Engineer - Remote - USA

They are seeking a Staff AI Engineer to integrate into client teams or work on FullStack product teams, leveraging extensive AI/ML engineering experience to build and maintain high-performance code and deliver AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Integrate directly into our client's team and work alongside their existing designers and engineers daily
• Work on a FullStack product team to build and deliver a product to our clients
• Build and maintain high-performance code in production environments
• Integrate AI capabilities into large-scale, existing microservice architectures and traditional engineering stacks (e.g., .NET)
• Solve complex, real-world problems using recent, practical AI implementation techniques
• Optimize token economics and manage context window constraints to balance cost and performance
• Design and orchestrate agentic systems, including the use of sub-agents and specialized skills
• Ensure AI solutions are robust, scalable, and secure by applying software engineering fundamentals
• Stay ahead of rapidly evolving industry standards in modern AI frameworks and development approaches
• Provide informed opinions and battle-tested best practices in AI engineering
• Work with ambiguity to guide technical decisions and act as a 'phone-a-friend' expert for difficult implementation challenges
• Work through new and difficult issues and contribute to libraries as needed
• Create and maintain continuous integration and delivery of applications
• Demonstrate forensic attention to detail
• Maintain a positive mindset and can-do attitude
• Work on Agile / Scrum teams
• Contribute to large, complex systems
• Take extreme ownership over work and ensure performance meets team expectations

Skills

• 8+ years of professional AI/ML engineering experience
• Advanced English is required
• Successful completion of a four-year college degree is required
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining high-performance code in production environments, moving beyond theoretical or advisory-only roles
• Proven experience integrating AI capabilities into large-scale, existing microservice architectures and traditional engineering stacks (e.g., .NET)
• Track record of solving complex, real-world problems using recent, practical AI implementation techniques
• Deep experience in optimizing token economics and managing context window constraints to balance cost and performance
• Adept at designing and orchestrating agentic systems, including the use of sub-agents and specialized skills
• Solid background in software engineering fundamentals, ensuring AI solutions are robust, scalable, and secure
• Expertise in modern AI frameworks and development approaches, staying ahead of rapidly evolving industry standards
• Skilled at providing informed opinions and battle-tested best practices rather than repeating publicly available knowledge
• Capable of working with ambiguity to guide technical decisions and act as a 'phone-a-friend' expert for difficult implementation challenges
• Ability to work through new and difficult issues and contribute to libraries as needed
• Ability to create and maintain continuous integration and delivery of applications
