In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements: Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Position: Music Room Assistant Mattapan Teen Center Required Application Materials: Resume, Cover Letter and Availability Job Description: Assist with small weekly classes, drop-in groups and 1:1 instruction for students aged 10-18 in a youth-development program. Help youth express themselves through music and movement. Lesson plans and teaching support are provided by an on-site supervisor who is usually a Berklee alum. These sites full time Music Clubhouses are aimed at introducing kids to music, production and performance by providing basic lessons, studio time, rehearsals, theory, and mentorship to youth in the Boston area. Requirements: Two semester minimum commitment. Availability at least 2-3 weekday afternoons/early evenings a week. Commute off-campus to the job site. Passion for performing arts and community involvement is a MUST. Desired: Previous experience working with urban youth and experience in various genres including r/b, jazz, pop, Latin, and World Music. Ability to teach basic music theory concepts to youth.
