Job Description:
As a Heavy Duty Truck Driver, your primary responsibility will be to operate a heavy-duty truck to transport goods safely and efficiently to customers across different locations. You will be expected to strictly adhere to all company procedures and safety regulations. You will also be required to inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities:
– Safely operating the truck in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
– Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle
– Loading and unloading cargo as needed
– Accurately documenting work and logs of transport information
– Reporting any incidents encountered on the road
– Delivering goods to customer locations in a timely and safe manner
– Conducting routine maintenance and reporting any necessary repairs
Requirements:
– Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
– Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
– Clean driving record and strong navigational skills
– Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests
– Physically fit and able to handle the demands of long-distance driving
Educational Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Completion of a certified truck driving school is preferred but not mandatory
