About the position The Virtual Registered Nurse (RN) position within the Hospital Care at Home Program at ChristianaCare Hospital offers a unique opportunity to provide hospital-level care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. This innovative program allows patients to receive continuous care through a combination of in-person visits, virtual consultations, and monitoring via a telehealth platform. As a Virtual RN, you will be part of a dedicated care team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, paramedics, and other registered nurses, all working collaboratively to ensure the highest level of patient care. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring patient health, administering treatments, and coordinating care services such as laboratory tests, infusion therapy, wound care, imaging, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and EKG services. You will also facilitate virtual specialty provider consultations and manage medication delivery services. The position requires a commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining constant communication with patients, ensuring they feel supported and connected to their healthcare providers. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, with holiday and weekend responsibilities as per departmental guidelines. This remote role allows you to leverage technology to enhance patient care while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. Responsibilities • Monitor patient health and provide hospital-level care remotely. , • Coordinate care services including laboratory tests, infusion therapy, and wound care. , • Facilitate virtual specialty provider consultations. , • Manage medication delivery services for patients. , • Communicate regularly with patients to ensure they feel supported and connected to their care team. , • Document patient interactions and care provided in the electronic health record. Requirements • RN License in Delaware or Compact State is required. , • BSN preferred or commitment to acquiring a BSN within 3 years of hire date. , • At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN is required. , • BLS certification is required. Nice-to-haves • Experience with telehealth platforms is a plus. , • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. , • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
