Job description: For the 2025-2026 academic year, the School of Education may have a need for temporary, part time supervisors in its secondary teacher credential program. The supervisors are responsible for observing and providing feedback to candidates in fieldwork at middle and/or high school classrooms, attending professional development, and faculty meetings.We are hiring Supervisors for the following content areas:
Multiple Subject: Elementary (bilingual Spanish preferred)Single Subject: Secondary Art
Single Subject: Secondary English
Single Subject: Secondary Mathematics
Single Subject: Secondary Science
Single Subject: Secondary Social Science
Single Subject: Secondary World Language (primarily Spanish)Must have their own transportation and be available to visit schools throughout Orange County to observe candidates during school day hours. The supervisor position typically requires a 3 consecutive quarter commitment.Service Period Dates for 2025-2026 Academic Year:
Fall Quarter: 9/22/25-12/12/25
Winter Quarter: 1/2/26 - 3/20/26
Spring Quarter: 3/25/26 - 6/12/26Minimum Qualifications:
California teaching credential. Relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum of 3-years of K-12 instructionDesired Qualifications:
A master's degree in education or relevant content area. Experience mentoring or teaching pre-service teachers.Expectations for Professional Engagement in the University and P-12 Educational Community:
The UCI School of Education and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing expect instructional personnel to regularly and systematically collaborate with colleagues in P-12 settings, college and university units and members of the broader educational community to improve educator preparation.This commitment can be demonstrated through engagement in various opportunities and should be documented on each instructor's annual observation report:
- Program workgroups, steering committee and department planning meetings
- Orientations with supervisors and mentor teachers
- Professional learning communities
- Professional development in P-12 contexts
- Induction or advisory boards
- Collaborations with community colleges or 4-year universities
- Conferences and trainings
