Responsibilities:

As an Instructional Tutor, you will:

• Provide individualized and group tutoring to students in non-STEM related subjects, including Biology, Composition, Engineering, English, Languages, and Writing
• Assist students in analyzing assignments, interpreting discipline-specific problems, and clarifying critical thinking and communication skills
• Support students working in online formats and provide guidance on effective learning strategies
• Collaborate with instructors and other tutors to develop and implement tutoring strategies and materials
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and knowledge

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent, with completion of courses in the subject area(s) to be tutored
• Have a strong academic record, with a minimum average decimal grade of 3.5 or higher in the subject area(s) to be tutored
• Have excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Be able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing situations and priorities
• Be committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the higher education environment
